I love Day Job so much, and I love that fans petitioned them to stop playing it and they listened lol

Spent the whole weekend listening to this non-stop. It's nearly perfect, the sound is bold but not polished like the previous years... only a minor complaint: some of the Drums> Space sometimes feels a bit out of focus... but otherwise is a masterpiece, throning above with the like of Complete Europe '72 and May '77 box sets.

Now playing: PNW 73-74 :ahuh:

What is one? (he asked sheepishly)

I dunno but it’s got a great Cryptical Appropriation > The Other One > Cultural Envelopment

Add me as a Day Job fan too, petition to remove it sounds too much like Phish fan complaining to me, although I can see how hippies would've taken it as a dig.

Anyone know how it's determined what stuff makes it to Spotify and what's left off? Besides Dave's Picks, I'd love to have those June 77 shows and November 73 shows to listen to on there. I hate having to use two different platforms - one for Dead shows and one for everything else. Really messes up the flow if I want a playlist to keep going.

Anyone see that there was an Angel’s Share for American Beauty up in streaming and now it’s gone? I did listen to some of it before it went.

Really digging this blown out audience recording, it sounds like the Rallizes Denudes covering Dark Star, or the Velvets' Guitar Amp Tape:

Maybe a couple weeks ago someone asked about Keith dominated shows
Whole show at the Kezar in 73.
Eyes- Keith at 6:05 is pounding away. So good.

how many folks here tend to purchase official releases?

I just stream everything, I don’t have any hard drives or anything for downloading and listening so I don’t get any official releases ever, it doesn’t really matter to me what Dave puts out unless it just points me to a show that I can listen to an AUD or SBD of already (which is every show).. I bought Dick’s Pick’s 18 in 2003 and I think that’s it, other than collecting used LP’s in record stores since about that time.. but never any repressings or new releases

it just seems like there’s always buzz about official releases and box sets in here and I guess that surprises me in 2020, so I’m curious

the vinyl stuff I understand to an extent, though I can’t imagine listening to shows in that format regularly because it’s just tedious for a 2.5 hour recording, but I’d love 3/29/90 for novelty’s sake it’s just really damn expensive

I believe I have 95-100% of the shows that have ever been officially released on my hard drive. :ugeek:

I still listen to CDs in the car so once a year or so I'll order an official release, usually while very high. Nearly got the Pacific Northwest box that way when it came out but fortunately I was able to cancel (it's beautiful but costs like $400+ CDN with shipping). Mostly the releases just guide me to shows I might not have known about otherwise.

Yeah I was clicking through, idly looking to find out how much shipping was, and I accidentally went one screen too far and actually ordered it. They were nice in cancelling though, it felt like they'd dealt with stoners actidentally buying things before.
