You have to do some digging to find decent films available for instant watch so let's help each other out OK?
Now, I have no soul and pretty much nothing moves me, but these two films have actually made we wept, which trust me is amazing.
Dear Zachary, A Letter to a Son About His Father
Filmmaker Kurt Kuenne's poignant tribute to his murdered childhood friend, Andrew Bagby, tells the story of a child custody battle between the baby's grieving grandparents and Shirley Turner, Bagby's pregnant ex-girlfriend and suspected killer. Initially, Kuenne made this documentary as a memorial for Andrew's loved ones, but it morphs into an emotional legal odyssey when Turner goes free on bail and is allowed to raise her son.
The Gits
Filmmaker Kerri O'Kane's incisive documentary tracks the inception and ascent of Seattle-based post-punk band the Gits, whose rise to prominence was cut short by the shocking rape and murder of their fiery lead singer, Mia Zapata, in 1993. Featuring performance footage and reflective interviews with the remaining members of the Gits, O'Kane's labor of love celebrates Zapata's memory and the group's enduring legacy.

so what you really meant to say was, "point me in the direction of good, obscure cinema available for netflix streaming," right? that's cool, but wasn't clear from your first post.

This engrossing documentary examines the unusual and often conflicted lifestyle led by a ragtag collection of teenage runaways, veterans, dreamers and political radicals as they scratch out an existence in the remote New Mexican desert. The residents may share a vision for a new way of life, but filmmakers Randy and Jeremy Stulbert don't shy away from the collective's underside, such as the steps taken to stop a series of robberies on the mesa.
the stabilizer is an indonesian action film distributed by troma. this movie is fucking amazing in every conceivable way. seriously awesome.
you can't really see it in the trailer, but when greg rainmaker is raping the stabilizer's girl, there's a painting of him in the background that is pretty much the poster for COBRA. so so so so so so so so so so good.
On Hollywood Boulevard, wannabe movie stars dress up as superheroes and pose for photos with tourists. Matt Ogens's documentary follows four of these quirky dreamers, who are just killing time until they're discovered. You'll get to know a Superman who takes his role to heart, an Incredible Hulk who sold his prized video game system for a ticket to Tinseltown, a Midwestern beauty queen-turned-Wonder Woman and a Batman in need of a little therapy.
It probably wouldn't surprise you to learn that Danny Trejo (a tattooed character actor featured in such films as Desperado, Con Air and From Dusk Till Dawn) has a checkered past. But this gripping documentary (featuring Dennis Hopper, Val Kilmer, Steve Buscemi and Antonio Banderas) reveals a lot of things you wouldn't expect, including Trejo's troubled childhood, his brush with armed robbery and his ultimate triumph in turning his life around.
BEST MOVIE EVER!
Nikki (Ashton Kutcher) has made a career out of targeting older women and using them for anything and everything … in exchange for a little sex. But the player gets played when he meets Heather (Margarita Levieva), a pretty waitress who knows every trick. Before Heather came along, Nikki had a foolproof arrangement with Samantha (Anne Heche), a successful attorney who was happy being "friends with benefits." But now he might actually be in love.
With the Wo Shing Society, Hong Kong's oldest triad, on the verge of electing a new chairman, the stage is set for an all-out battle between the two leading contenders, the highly respected Lok (Simon Yam) and the hotheaded loose cannon known as Big D (Tony Leung Ka Fai). When Big D suspects that he'll be passed over for the position, he threatens to start his own triad and launch a war against the Wo Shing Society.
