In terms of positive effects for you? Yeah, probably and Poseidon is fun. Usually this isn't my genre of game but enjoying the hell out of this.

I think I dreamt about Hades last night.

I never got into using call and I never pick them as boons. Is this a mistake?

I was reading this https://kotaku.com/everything-you-need-to-know-to-beat-hades-for-the-firs-1845142723 and they have 250-300 health by the end of the run

yeah i rarely have less than 250+ health by the time i've reached the end, go for the hearts once a biome if possible

also there's a passive upgrade you can buy back at the house (or maybe it's the mirror, got this way back before 1.0 release) that gives you health any time you pickup darkness in your runToggle Spoiler

i've been trying to grab them late in runs, but it does really help to have poseidon or zeus for the last fight. not a priority before that for me, but if i end up with one it's usually those immunity+dmg

//

currently on +6 heat/5streak, and each has just been a breeze with the railgunToggle Spoiler. even without the daedalus +300% special dmgToggle Spoiler buff, the runs just feel easier than any other weapon. i've been using keyboard/mouse with special bound to a side-mouse button, so the special heavy weapons are feeling nicer than spamming leftclick.

additional health also buffs your death defianceToggle Spoiler, so you're coming back with more each time. after seeing that interaction, i started prioritizing health over nearly anything but chaos early on in the runToggle Spoiler. also with more health, if you get those less % damage taken under 40% health boons,Toggle Spoiler then you'd be getting the benefit most of the last fight

kind of related but the last spear aspect guan yuToggle Spoiler cuts your life and life gainToggle Spoiler by 70% lol. BUT with some hammer upgrades and some damage reduction its kind of a fun meta game to fight hades with 50 hpToggle Spoiler

i'm interested in this game but i prefer turns in my rougeleits

i made an exception for Children of Morta, and after every session it would feel similar to how you feel when a workday ends

If someone is bad at videogames, should they bother with this? Asking for, uh, a friend.

I think the actual op god is athena if you build around divine dash/her call, you can just do braindead dash-attacks to victory and only worry about a handful of things that can even touch you

just try to get some good hermes stuff to complement and slap on whatever other attack damage/dash bonuses you like from other gods

yeah deflection is just too good

my friend is also bad but i think there enough ways to steadily progress thru the game. theres an option for adding a flat 20% damage reduction (god mode) that they use

I think god mode scales with each failed run, too

in general you can grind past a lot of difficulty cliffs

I'm terrible and I love it. I put God Mode on and yes, iambic is correct, you start at 20% damage reduction and every time you die, it increases by 2%. I think I'm at 32% now or something. Noticeably easier for me but not a true "god mode" cakewalk, but I can at least progress.

the rewards also seem designed for us to hit a wall for a bit starting out, so I wouldn't get too discouraged

I've been liking her cast the most of anyone's, but also special and attack deflect are just great

had a completely deathless 1 heat run tonight with athena cast + upgraded sword with the special that dislodges castsToggle Spoiler. was just surprised the sword went from 'I couldn't get passed elysium' to 'deathless speedrun' when it got repurposed to pry my 3 casts out of bad guysToggle Spoiler
