I got my tickets to the Edmonton show which was added last Friday. The show is taking place at The Aviary. Its a smallish venue so things are going to get pretty sweaty.

I got my tix for chicago.
I loved the new preoccupations album personally tbh

I just like the new preoccs album so much because it's definitely a return to form for the band imo after new material which was a massive step back from the self titled, viet Cong and cassette which even though I really like decompose compliance and solace off that album the production was completely botched on all the other tracks and everything just sounded washed out and indistinct in a bad way which was super unfortunate because I bet most of them would've sounded far better live.
Back to arrangements though, I honestly love slowly, fix bayonets, death of melody, advisor and recalibrate, ricochet has grown on me a lot (even if it's hardcore new order/cure worship) and tearing up the grass might actually be in my top 4 preoccupations tracks alongside death bunker buster and memory, and the album just flows so damn well. I'm also super happy it's much more guitar oriented, and hell in general 2022 has been very good for post punky/underground rock music in general.
Fucking hyped to see them live in Seattle, also def gonna say hi to the flegels/the other preoccs boys if I get a chance.
Cindy lee was great had a couple new songs where they just had normal vocals without the pitch shifting effects. Preoccupations were good too, new album sounded much better live than on the album. Preoccupations were worried they were playing poorly, and they mentioned they had found out someone they new had died today so they thought it might be messing with their performance but they seemed great. Cindy lee was having some technical difficulties throughout but absolutely shredded on the guitar it was sick.
I’m terrible with song names but a major highlight was burning candle, I think the limit was also played but there wasn’t a ton of stuff played from what’s eternity to tonight.
CL just finished in chicago, awesome set. the new songs were so good, I wanted to live in them
the two older ones played were I don't want to fall in love again & just for loving you I pay the price. the latter sounded nothing like the studio version, no guitar and more of an upbeat girl group rendition.
