Even Voyager's is good, but no, Courage's original is still the best. EDIT: Sorry, Courage's and Roddenberry's ©

I like the overall portrayal of Sisko, but I really never warmed Brooks', um, theatrical acting style.

this thread is perfect timing because i'm going through episodes on netflix and want to know if it's fine to skip most of the episodes in the first few seasons it's way better now than watching it as a kid

If it's the first time through and you have to, you could probably get by on the pilot, A Man Alone, Dax, The Nagus, Battle Lines, Duet, and In the Hands of the Prophets. There's no lack of bad episodes over the other six years, but there's probably not a lot to be gained by skipping them.
If you've already watched a lot of the show, though, just watch Duet.

Duet and Waltz are amazing two character-centric episodes. I'd also say watch it all, but you can skip around as far as season four and not be lost in terms of continuity.

Between this and Nana Visitor's overly dramatic anger, it's hard to believe there's room for great characters like Quark, Odo, Bashir & O'Brien

The last few seasons are pretty great aside from that stupid lounge singer and the baseball episode Great story arc and some really cool episodes like the one where O'Brien is a spy, the one with the kid from Lost in Space, and the one where Jake tries to get the baseball card for his dad

Brooks is a weird dude. I remember most interviews with him being about how Star Trek is silly and that there are REAL LIFE ISSUES. He probably came when he read the script for Far Beyond the Stars.

I liked the baseball episode at the time, but haven't watched it in years. I remember it being much more enjoyable than most Ferengi episodes.

O'Brien may be my favorite ST character ever. The episode where some planet implanted memories of 20 years of prison in his brain got me pretty good.

One minor character is really like is Admiral Ross, he actually kicks ass and isn't a spineless bureaucrat like most of the admirals Picard dealt with

I feel like DS9 kind of reaches the potential TNG had, and it seems to have aged marginally better (the better uniforms certainly don't hurt)
