Let's talk Aguachile Alley

this surprised me.

I haven't seen more than like 4 episodes so far but I've yet to see a bad one.

rick's voice annoyed me in the pilot, but harmon reined it in.

this show is really great, totally filled the void left by futurama in my heart and definitely one of the best new cartoons since bob's burgers. yeah, it doesn't always work, especially the satire which gives off bitter ain't it cool news comments section nerd/kevin smith vibes, but otherwise I'm sold... episodes 3, 5 & in particular 6.

its willingness to put the characters in extreme peril and significantly alter the universe goes a long way... it stays true to the madcap spirit of cartoons by using the freedom of science fiction to motivate the plot. if it remains as daring it could become one of the best science fiction shows on tv (not hard)

yep. i might like the b-stories featuring the dad more than the rick & morty stories, though the recent cronenburg world one was good

the dad stumbling around the alien virtual reality was great

I didn't expect much when I first watched this show, but it's actually pretty solid. And yeah, that last episode with the Cronenburgs was great.

when they're walking through intergalactic customs and the announcements on the PA system are just as mundane as you'd expect in a real life airport except the words are "blorgons" and "flimflams"

this show's really great.

i loved that episode that ended with them just killing alternate reality versions of themselves and then settling into their lives. morty all shaking and freaked out and rick just being like "THESE are our lives now." that's some good shit right there

ive been meaning to make a thread about this show. it's probably the best new cartoon i've seen in forever. super funny and the adventure aspect is really what sells it for me.

on a similar note. even though its way more for kids than this: i highly recc Steven Universe.
